EMPIRE AVIATION SCHOOLS

* (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 16. The success of the Empire Central Flying School, the object of which is to ensure pilot training throughout the British Commonwealth, has led to a decision to organise central navigation and air armament schools on similar world-embracing lines. The main objects of the Empire Central Navigation School are to ensure quality of air navigation instruction and to train a limited number of specialist navigators and officers, so that they will be competent to act as links between practical aviation and scientific research. The Empire Air Armament School will adopt a similar policy, which will include specialised work at a central gunnery school.

The three Empire schools are in the Flying Training Command of the Royal Air Force.
