* RAYNER BfATS GORDON KNOCK-OUT IN SEVENTH ROUND (P.A.) WELLINGTON. September 25. By a masterly display of rlngcraft Clarrie Rayner (Blenheim) wore down Viv Gordon (Auckland) and knocked him out with a right cross to the head in the seventh round of a professional lightweight boxing contest scheduled for 10 rounds. Gordon shaped well over the first three rounds, using both hands with speed, and placing his punches well. Rayner weighed 9st 61b and Gordon 9st 51b.
