JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES

* PROTEST AGAINST BAN

At a recent meeting in Wellington of delegates representing the Jehovah s Witnesses movement in New Zealand, a resolution was passed protesting against continuance of the ban on the movement by the New Zealand Government, and calling on the Government to grant freedom of worship. . The resolution stated that except in New Zealand the ban imposed by governments on Jehovah’s Witnesses had been removed, and the governments, concerned had “now completely exonerated Jehovah’s Witnesses of the false charges made against them.” The meeting also protested against the “continued refusal of the New Zealand Government* to consider our case and impartially investigate the charges made against us,” and against regulations which “prohibit us from preaching the Gospel to the people and from inviting the public to attend Christian services conducted by Jehovah s Witnesses.”
