A FARMER’S COMPLAINT

Sir, —Farmers are often branded as a lot of squealers, and at times they have something to squeal about. Dairy farmers have just received their bonuson their year’s cream. Now, why does not the Government pay the full guaranteed price to the farmers? In my own case, the dairy factory has deducted just over 7s a cow as my "share of cartage costs.” When an award is made for other workers they get the full award, no “cartage costs”, off. Members of Parliament get their share without the cost of carting them round the country deducted. Perhaps some Minister will explain, for it is certainly a nasty dig.—Yours, etc., FAIR GO. September 20. 1944,
