RATIONING
Sir,—Some time ago tinned fruit and sardines were released to the public. My grocer said I could have a tin of sardines but only one tin of fruit was allowed to every two persons registered. Rather hard,on single people, but there is a war on! Now a further distribution is being made, and the same story is being told so that a household of two will have had two tins and a single person none at all Very nice The rationing is very hard on single persons, who cannot afford to supplement their butter sugar, tea. and meat rations by meals purchased, but this is a very unfair way of doing things. Perhaps the grocers would let two of us have a tin between us and let us settle the distribution?— Yours, etc..
