WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. “The Allied plans are, moving steadily to the climax of victory, the unconditional surrender of the enemy in Europe and the Pacific. There is no holding back on any fighting front. Is it conceivable that New Zealand will fail in the financial war-task set for it .in what promises to be the year of victory?" asks the National War Loan Committee. “The conscience of patriotic citizens impels them to make financial sacrifices as their share of home-front war activity. They have not stopped to ask whether the march to victory would or would not slow down if they held on to bank balances made secure by fighting men’s sacrifices. Neither have the fighting men been daunted by the thought that there are monetary or military defaulters. “The war goes on. but just at preBent the war loan lags,” adds the committee; “but there is ample time to show that New 'Zealand’s enthusiasm for a great cause is equal to a full subscription to the Victory Loan before the final date. 12 days hence. FAMILY SAVINGS‘DAY SCHOOL CHILDREN TO PARADE “To focus public attention on Family Savings Day in the Victory Loan Campaign, which will be on Saturday, September 30, a monster procession of primary school children has been arranged for the preceding Thursday, said Mr J, L.
