MUSIC FOR “THE BRONTES”

Sir,—May I congratulate: the Repertorv Society on its choice and production of “The Brontes”? But is it not regrettable that the moo'd should be shattered by incongruous incidental music? In future, could not adequate music bn arranged, or, for that matter composed? Perhaps a well-known New Zealand composer could be persuaded to step down a few rungs, to forget Shakespeare _ for the moment, and to focus his genius on a lesser but equally worth-while enterprise.— Yours, etc.. EVE>S GRANDSON. September 16.1944.
