Thieves forced their way into the premises of the Crystal Mirror and Glass Company, Ltd., at 283 Tuam street, early on Saturday morning and collected a sum of money, besides a quantity of spirits which were on the premises. Petty cash amounting to £2 15s was taken, also a small sum representing the employees’ tea fund. Besides the liquor, a bottle of b"andy and a bottle of whiskv the thieve* also sampled several bottles of beer. Cigarettes, cigars, and tobacco are also missing. Admittance was gained through a window that had been prised open and an iron bar removed. It is not known whether the stock of mirrors was interfered with.
A theft was also reported Dy the Times Book Club at 743 A Colombo street. Entrance to this place was gained through a back yard off an alleyway leading from Colombo street. A window was broken and the door opened from the inside. Books were scattered about the premises, and with the exception of a few shillings, the whole of the day’s takings was appropriated.
