WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION
Papanul-Waimairl.—Mrs Thackwell presided at the monthly meeting of the Papanui-Waimairi branch of the Womens Division of the Farmers' Union. It was reported that a donation of 10s had been sent to the seed for Soviet Union fund, and that the division had supplied vegetables and given a donation to the Women’s Active Service Club. The competitions resulted as follows: single bloom: Miss Cadenhead 1, Mrs Nicholls 2; cluster bloom: Mrs McBeath 1. Miss Cadenhead 2; vase of flowers: Mrs Mcßcath 1; egg cup posy: Mrs Thackwell 1, Mrs Burrows 2: apple short cake: Mrs Creswell 1, Mrs Gagliardi 2. The hostesses for th 6 afternoon were Mcsdames Greenslade and Kerr and Miss Kerr.
