DRAFT RETURNS TO N.Z.
3*50 MEMBERS OF MIDDLE EAST FORCES . SICK AND WOUNDED MEN (P A) WELLINGTON. August 5. A draft of 360 2nd N.Z.E.F. sick and wounded, medical officers on duty, and nursing sisters, and members of the W.A.A.C. and Voluntary Aid Detachments from the Middle East were officially welcomed recently by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser), and members of the Government and representatives of the Returned Services’ Association and local bodies. Several of the wounded were men with long periods of service overseas There were approximately 60 stretcher cases on the ship, but most of the other personnel were able to return to their homes on leave, even if they have later to be recalled for further treatment.
