EDUCATION
Sir,—Cannot children learn the three R’s, English, written and spoken, without all this nerve-racking to a sensitive child—nonsensical drawings of animals, seeds, etc.? To draw, unless gifted, a child needs showing. Anv way, it is a waste of time and youth. Most children have to earn their living. and these useless subjects could be replaced with arithmetic much needed. —Yours, etc,, PARENT. June 2, 1944.
