WET DAYS ON COAST

Sir, —Your correspondent “Scrubcutter” is to be commended for his loyalty to the Coast. Here are some interesting figures relating to the rainfall and sunshine recorded last month. These figures are taken from the news columns of “The Press." Hokitika; nine wet days, 5.61 inches of rain, and 142 hours of sunshine. Timaru; 10 wet days, 1.20 inches of rain, and 119 hours and 54 minutes’ sunshine. .Christchurch; 13 wet days, 3.99 inches of rain, and 100 hours 6 minutes’ sunshine. Hokitika an easy winner for sunshine! (We forget about the rain.) These figures speak for themselves.— Yours, etc., SUNSHINE SUE. Hokitika, June 6. 1944.
