' * MEETING OF RANGIORA FRUITGROWERS The following remits were approved at th.e annual meeting of the Rangiora Fruitgrowers’ Association recently:— “That owing to the lack of consideration given to Canterbury problems no delegates be sent from Canterbury to the Dominion conference this year. “That a meeting of Canterbury conference delegates be held every three months to deal with Canterbury af-. fairs, and all fruitgrowers be invited to attend. “That all restrictions on fruit marketing, other than those affected by the Pure Foods Act or profiteering, be removed. , “That the premium on fruit for cool storage be increased to Is a chse. “That orchard storage. b$ paid -for at 3d a week for the fulltime of storage, and the length of time of storage be decided by the grower. “That provision be made for an optional extra fancy grade at relative prices, as paid previously. “That fruit for dehydration be sold direct to the factory, so that growers can get the benefit of any increased prices and the reduction of packing and grading costs. ; < “That it be a recommendation from' the Dominion conference that at all puolic meetings ,of fruitgrowers (any person getting the greater part of his living by fruitgrowing) be entitled to vote on questions dealing with the class of fruit ne grows.” Officers elected were:—president, Mr J. A. Miles; vice-president, Mr J. Smith; honorary secretary ad treasurer, Mr N. Goldsbury; committee, Messrs P. Rae. F. Smith, L. Hatch, J, McLaughlin, and A. McKenzie; delegate to Canterbury provincial conference, Mr N. Goldsbury.
