LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

SITE FOR NEW FACTORY Sir—l quite agree with the letter from “Old Resident" and hope that before the factory is erected m Fendaiton, local residents will take eveiy possible step to prevent it,. There should be a recognised industrial area, where householders are free from smoke, smells, and noise. My house is near to the government cleaning sheds mentioned in “Old Residents letter, and also near a foundry. When the foundry was built after people had made their homes, we were told that there would be no nuisance, but every year the nuisance increases and tnere appears to be no remedy for householders. Ido not know Fendalton district, but admire Mr Livingstone for speaking against the .Industries should be confined to indus trial May 30, 1944.
