VICTORIA CROSS PRESENTED
FLYING OFFICER L. A. TRIGG WIDOW RECEIVES DECORATION (P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 28. The Victoria Cross awarded posthumously to Flying Officer Lloyd Allan Trigg was presented to his widow to-day by the Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall) who, with Lady Newall. flew from Auckland to Kaitaia and motored to Victoria valley, where Flying Officer Trigg spent his boyhood days. Mrs Trigg and her two sons had flown from New Plymouth earlier in the week aand were the guests of Mr C. B. Trigg, her brother-in-law. The ceremony was marked with simplicity and sincerity. The only persons present in addition to the ViceRegal party were the 83-year-old grandmother of Flying Officer Trigg (Mrg Charles White), Mrs Lloyd Trigg, and her two little sons, Private A. H. Trigg, who was wearing the insignia of an overseas draft, the only sister of Flying Officer Trigg (Mrs Neil Reynolds, of Whangarei), and the host and hostess. After a group photograph had been taken on the veranda of the house Sir Cyril and Lady Newall returned by air to Auckland.
