OBITUARY

THE REV. T. R. RICHARDS

(P A.) WELLINGTON, January 10. The death has occurred of the Rev. Thomas Retallick Richards, aged 78. For 40 years he had been a minister in the Methodist Church in both the North and South Islands. Mr Richards was born in Victoria in 1866 and came to New Zealand in 1894 beginning his ministry at Palmerston North in 1896. In 1899, he was minister at Hokitika, later going to Christchurch in 1904. He transferred in 1909 to Blenheim and was president of the Methodist Conference from 1925 to 1931. He leaves a widow, six sons, and one daughter.
