No Tea In Italy “They never saw tea in Italy, and I think they used to gather uo the tea leaves after we had used what we received in Red Cross parcels,” said Captain R. M. Young in a talk to the Canterbury Territorial Association on his experiences as a prisoner of war. He added that at one camp the prisoners used to save the leaves after they had made the tea, dry them, and sell them on the black market to the Italians. They did a thriving trade.
