VICTORIAN MINISTRY RESIGNS
SYDNEY. Sept. 11. The Premier of Victoria (Mr A. A. Dunstan) to-day tendered the resignation of his Ministry to the Governor (Sir Winston Dugan), who sent for Mr J. Cain, the Labour leader, and offered him a commission to form a Government. Mr Cain will reply on Monday.
NORWEGIAN NAVAL ACTION
ENEMY MERCHANTMAN SUNK .
(8.0. W.) RUGBY. Sept, 11. A Norwegian naval communique says that; Norwegian light forces at l 'a.m. to-day engaged enemy patrol and escort craft in the area of Kristiansund a small island off the west coast of Norway, 250 miles from-Oslo. A ,4000ton merchantman was torpedoed andsunk. The force returned to its base undamaged and without casualties.
