COMPANY NEWS Goldsbrough. Mort Dividend.—The net profit of Goldsbrough, Mort for the year ended Marcli 31, after providing £49,634 for depreciation, is £146,555. The sum of £165,314 was brought forward from last year, making a total of £311,869. An interim dividend of 2 per cent, was paid in December, this requiring £48,000. The directors recommend that a final dividend of 4 per cent., requiring £96,000, be paid, making a total dividend for the year of G per cent. The balance to be carried forward is £167.869. —P.A. Colonial Sugar Company.—The introduction of sugar rationing in New Zealand and Australia during the year resulted in sales during the balance of tlve financial year being less by 38.000 tons than tiiose during the corresponding period last year, said Mr E. R. Knox, moving the adoption of the annual report of ftho Colonial Sugar Refining Company. “However, over the whole year combined sales for New Zealand and Australia were recorded, and just exceeded 500,000 tons.” Mr Knox was re-elected a director.—P.A. Northern Steam.—A sharp advance in net profit. £6067, compared with £3396 last year, is disclosed in the accounts of the Northern Steam Ship Company, Ltd., for the year ended March 31. The result is reached after providing for depreciation. taxation, etc. The directors recommend a dividend of 5 per cent, per annum, taking £5650 (3 per cent. last year), leaving £1626 to be carried forward against £1209 brought in.—(P.S.S.) MINING Slab Hut.—The return for the fortnight ending June 6 was 79 ounces from 18,000 yards in 154 hours. New Zealand Crown Mines.—New Zealand Crown Mines report that on June 23 the directors in London will recommend a dividend of 3J,d a share, less tax 7s 2d in the £, on account of the year ended December, 1942. Grey River.—The Grey River return for tile period ending June 9. was 235 hours, 165.447 cubic yards, and 503J ounces. The return for May was 538 hours, 376.248 cubic yards, and 1189 ounces.
