MAGISTRATE’S COURT

MONDAY (Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) DEFAULT IN MAINTENANCE John Joseph Duffy was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour, for defaulting in the payment of £205 10s as maintenance for his children. Prevision was made for the warrant to bo suspended, on the payment of £2 a week off the arrears, in addition to current payments. Leonard Percy Miller was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, for defaulting in the payment Of maintenance to support. his wife, the arrears totalling £29 B*. Provision was made for the warrant to be suspended for 14 days to give time for the settlement of the amount owing. A sentence of three months' imprisonment was imposed on Stanley Charles McKenzie. Arrears in the maintenance of his wife were stated to amount to £75 Iss, -and provision was made for the warrant to bo suspended on the payment of £1 a week off the arrears, In addition to current maintenance payments.
