SUPREME COURT

MAY SESSION BEGINS The May session of the Supreme Court at Christchurch, over which his Honour Mr Justice Northcroft will preside, will begin to-day. Many petition* in divorce, the majority of them undefended, are set down for hearing on June 1, but it is expected that civil business during the session will not be heavy. The following prisoners will be tried, on the charges given in parenthesis after their names in the event of true bills being returned;— Charles Saint-Merat (alleged breaking, entering, and theft). Leo Edward Morland (alleged theft), Edward Scott (alleged Indecent assault), John William Frederick Wright (alleged assault), Albert Owen Humphries (alleged unlawful carnal knowledge), and Gordon Phillip Quinn (alleged unlawful carnal knowledge).
