YARDS OF CANVAS
Sir,—There seems to be a good deal of discontent with the methods'of selection adopted by the Canterbury Society of Arts. I do not know what the merits of the discussion may be, but I would suggest that a greater number of pictures might have been hung in the present exhibition. A third row-of pictures could have been placed with- advantage in the main gallery. It is difficult to believe that the large number of pictures unhung were poorer than some of those on the walls. In any case the public should be given a freqr opportunity of forming their own judgement.— Yours, etc.. . VISITOR. April 1, 1943:
