Simpson) were asked to inject the Christchurch-Akaroa highway at Motukarara and to? make application for a grant if they considered a second coat seating: necessary. The Railways-'Department will be asked to improve a loading bank at Ellesmere railway station to facilitate thedoading .Ofi farm produce. 7 When the Rehabilitation Board’s letter about post-war work was under consideration, members agreed unanimously that improved drainage in the Selwyn river, and £1 and £2 river areas should' be included as the most urgent works in Springs. Tt was pointed: out that better drainage would bring about a substantial increase in production. Better road drainage was also needed, it was stated.
