LAWN TENNIS
BOTTLE DROPPED FROM TROOPSHIP
COMPETITION CANCELLED
The Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association at its meeting last evening decided to cancel the mixed grade competition which was set down for January 9. It was thought that too many players would be on holiday to make the tournament a success.
It was decided to divide the men’s competition into A and B sections, the first games to be played to-morrow. Mr P. H. Jones, representing the Junior Association, reported that the primary schools’ tournament would commence tomorrow. Four cups had been offered for competition.
