SOUTH CANTERBURY BEATS

CHRISTCHURCH

The annual match for the Steans Cup was played on the United green yesterday when the South Canterbury Bowling Centre beat the Christchurch Centre by 22 points. The two teams were entertained at lunch on the ground before the game and also at afternono tea.' After the game, Mr T. D. Lennie, president of the Christchurch Centro, handed over the cup to Mr J. H. Schrader, vice-president of South Canterbury, and congratulated the visitors on their success. Twenty games for the cup have been played, and each side has won 10 times.
