SPRING CARROTS NOT MARKETED
Chinese growers, it is reported, have decided not to market spring carrots till January, as a result of the Price Investigation Tribunal enforcing the wholesale price of £24 a ton. No carrots were offered for sale in the city’s markets yesterday. Growers, it was stated, claimed that to sell at £24 a ton was uneconomic.
