November has been the most popular month this year for weddings at Christchurch, and 146 marriage notices were issued, compared with 131 In March and only 91 in November last year, However, only 1299 marriage notices have been issued so far this year, compared with 1399 for the first 11 months of last year. Other vital statistics for Christchurch, with last year’s figures in parenthesis, are as follows:—Births: November, 259 (284); 11 months, 2978 (2987); deaths; 130 (124), 1861 (1584): marriages performed by the registrar, 21 (19), 242 (230).
