FRENCH CONSULAR AGENCY
ACTIVITIES SUSPENDED AT CHRISTCHURCH The French Consular Agency in Christchurch has been closed as a sequel to the New Zealand Government’s action in breaking oft' diplomatic relations with Vichy France. The Consular Agent (Mr G. E. F. Kingscote) has received a direction from the French Consul at Wellington (M. Andre Pouquet) to suspend activities and close the agency until further notice. Mr Kingscote said last evening that •since the fall of France in 1940 little business had been transacted by the agency, which was mainly concerned with commercial matters. For the last two years there had been little commercial contact with any French possessions under the control of the French Government. A Press Association message reports the closing of the Auckland agency. The Consular Agent there is Mr G. W. Hutchison, who was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour some time ago. The Consular Agent at Dunedin is Mr S. E. D. Neill. RAZOR BLADES. “Heather” Safety Blades, best British steel, packets of 12 blades, 2/6. MASON, STRUTHERS and CO., LTD. —6
