1 SIR CYRIL NEW ALL SENDS GREETINGS (P.A.) WELLINGTON. December 1. The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, has sent the following message to the Governor of Tasmania (Sir Ernest Clark), where the tercentenary of the discovery of (he island is being celebrated: “On behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand, as well as personally, I send you and the Government and people of Tasmania a message of cordial greetings and goodwill on the occasion of the tercentenary of the discovery of Tasmania. This celebration is one of common interest to our two countries, and we join with you and our heroic Netherlands ally in paying tribute to the great navigator who first explored these regions 300 years ago.”
