THE WEATHER IN NOVEMBER
A WARM, DRY MONTH Last month was the warmest November in Christchurch for eight years, accordins to information supplied by the Magnetic Observatory, Christchurch, the temperature being 1.09 degrees above normal, and live rainfall was below average. 1.41 in, compared with 1.763. On the other hand, there was less sunshine titan usual, 187.8 hours, compared with the average for November of 207 hours. Meteorological observations for November were:— Barometer.—Mean for month, 29.(70 incites; highest reading ion 3tht. 30.206 inches: lowest reading (on 29th), 29.091 inches. Temperature in Shade. —Mean tor month. 36.99 deg. F.; highest reading (on 15th). 81.1 deg. F.; lowest reading ion atilt. 36.0 deg. F. Temperature Exposed.—Mean minimum on grass, 42.76 deg. F.; lowest reading (on alh l, 29.1 deg. F. Moisture—Mean daily amount ot cloud (0-10), 7.2; total rainfall, 1.41 inches; number of rainy davs, 12; heaviest fall (on 16th). 0.72im Earth Temperatures.—At a depth of one foot, 61.90 deg. F.; at a depth of three feet, 58.45 deg. F.; at a depth of five, feet, 55.07deg. F. Sunshine.—Total sunshine for month. 187.8 hours; moan daily amount, 6.3 hours.
