♦ VICEREGAL (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) announced to-day that Lady Ncwall had consented to accept appointment as titular head of the women’s units in the armed forces and the Emergency Reserve Corps. Her Excellency will hold the following appointments: Commandant-in-Chief of the Women’s Royal New Zealand Naval Service, Commandant-in-Chief of the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps, Com-mandant-in-Chief of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force, and Commandant-in-Chief of the Women’s Civil Defence Services. The Presbyterian Assembly has granted the status of minister Emeritus to the Rev. J. H. Robertson, the Rev. E. H. Kedgley, the Rev. G. H. Jupp, and the Rev. A. C. Randerson, — (P.A.) Mr and Mrs S. B. Reid (Temuka) have been advised that their son, Colin, has been promoted to major in the Australian Imperial Forces. The Presbyterian Assembly yesterday appointed the Rev, Dr. S. F. Hunter Principal of the Theological Hall, Knox College, Dunedin, in succession to the Very Rev. Dr. John Dickie, who died recently. Dr. Hunter, who will hold office until the date of his retirement, has been professor of Old Testament studies at Knox College since 1929. He is 62 years of age—(P.A.)
