DISTRICT SYNOD
— ♦ — NORTH CANTERBURY METHODISTS The North Canterbury District Synod of the Methodist Church will begin its sessions to-day at the Durham Street Church. The district chairman, the Rev. J. H. Allen will preside. Proceedings will begin in the morning with a meeting of the ministerial committee, at which the oral examiner will be the Rpv. E. E. Sage. The chairman will open the representative session and deliver his address at 2 p.m. There will be another representative session in the evening. Proceedings will begin on Wednesday with the celebration of Holy Communion. The Rev. D. O. Williams will speak at 10.30 a.m. on “Growth In Grace,” and the Synod session will resume an hour later, and again in the afternoon. That evening the speakers at the Synod social will be the Rev. C. O. Hailwood and Mr G. H. B. Lill, vice-presidents of the conference. The Addington Church ctyyr,, will provide a musical programme," and supper will be supplied-by t&e women members of the Chrlstcmirch North circuits. Synod will conclude its deliberations on Thursday.
