POINTS FROM OTHER LETTERS
“Bare Knuckles” agrees with “The Sooner the Better” about dispensing with the charge for use of public conveniences. He “joins enthusiastically, with ‘The Sooner the Better’ in his far-sightedness.” “Celerissime” also condemns the charge for use of conveniences as “decadent” and commends the ideas put forward by “The Sooner the Better” to the consideration of the City Council. Norton Wright advocates the use of soot and fine ash which have been exposed to the weattier as a means of ridding cabbages of the white butterfly. The cabbage patch should be topdressed with the compound and a few handfuls thrown over the plants at intervals. He also advocates pouring over the cabbages cold water in which lettuces have been boiled.
