PROMOTED TO LIEUTENANTCOLONEL.—Advice has been received that Major I. L. Bonifant has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant-colonel. Colonel Bonifant is 30 years of age, being the eldest son of Mr and Mrs John Bonifant, Wakanul, Ashburton. He left New Zealand as a lieutenant with the 2nd Echelon, and has fought in Greece, Crete, and both desert campaigns. His wife was formerly Miss June Taylor, eldest daughter of Mr David Taylor, Southbridge.
