BANKRUPT FAILS TO APPEAR

MEETING ADJOURNED A meeting of creditors of Patrick Murphy, farmer, of Chertsey, called by the Official Assignee for yesterday morning, did not eventuate. The bankrupt did not appear and there was, no quorum of creditors. The Official Assignee (Mr G. W. Brown) pointed out to the creditors present that the bankrupt had not only failed to attend, but had not furnished a statement of his affairs. Both were offences under bankruptcy law. He would take steps to see what explanation the bankrupt had to make. The meeting was adjourned sine die.
