The recent invitation to the public to make practical suggestions for assisting in tyre conservation had so far met with no response, said Mr J. J. B. Connor, district officer of the Transport Department, who is acting as liaison officer between the department and taxi and transport control committees in the area. In his work as liaison officer. Mr Connor has now visited 15 of the 20-odd committees covering West Coast, Nelson, Marlborough, and Canterbury districts.
