ROOF BLOWN FROM FACTORY

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. A wooden roof 60 feet square, together with concrete supports weighing several tons, was lifted bodily and curried about one and a half chains when a whirlwind struck Bell road, Woburn, this afternoon. The damage occurred at the Wellington Concrete Pipe Company's factory. Hearing the roar of the approaching wind, the factory manager left the building just as it was struck, and was immediately enveloped in masses of flying timber. He was blown off his feet. The wind had previously been from the west, but most of the remnants of the roof were scattered on the north side of the building.
