APPOINTMENTS GAZETTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 24. Among the military appointments gazetted to-night is that of Captain L. D. Hastie, who is appointed AssistantDirector of Mechanical Transport, Southern Military District, and is granted the temporary rank of major. Lieutenant-Colonel R. E. Sleight is removed from the Reserve of Officers and is appointed to command a composite anti-aircraft regiment, with the temporary rank of major. Captain (Temporary LieutenantColonel) W. S. McKinnon. Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, is appointed to command a heavy anti-air-craft regiment.
