MAIL SERVICE TO KUMARA

PROTEST MEETING A protest meeting against the unsatisfactory mail service to Kumara was held in the Kumara Memorial Hall, and was attended by representatives of the various business interests and citizens. It was indicated that, following representations to the department, no satisfactory adjustment had been made. It was unanimously decided that the department be asked to restore the mail services, morning and evening, as formerly, and that a request be made to have the office opened daily between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m„ so that workers could transact general business in the evening.
