MORE MEAT AND BREAD BERLIN, Sept. 15. It is officially announced in Berlin that the week’s bread ration for persons over the age of 20 will be increased on October 19 by half a pound. The meat ration will be increased by IJoz, and by 3oz for persons doing heavy work. This increase is reported to be due to urgent warnings from the Ministry of Health that the former rations are insufficient for winter time. Under the new rations, adults in Germany will get Ilioz of meat weekly. Children under six get less than Alb, older children nearly 11b, and manual workers 11b. The new bread mtion gives adults 4i!b, with extra allowances for manual night workers. An additional ration of cheese will also be issued. The correspondent of the “Evening Standard” in Geneva suggests that the increase in the bread ration is possible owing to a better harvest ir Germany and the importation o T ' wheat from the occupied countries, notably France, where farmers have been ordered to deliver all grain to the Government.
