WAGE AND PRICE FIXATION

BILL BEFORE U.S. SENATE (Roc. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Sept. 14. Legislation specifically authorising Mr Roosevelt to stabilise wages and salaries from August 15, and farm prices at levels not below parity, was introduced in the United States Senate by Senator R. F. Wagner and Senator Prentiss Brown, in response to Mr Roosevelt's message to Congress on September 7. The bill provides a price ceiling not fixed below the higher of the two following alternatives: (1) the parity price, or a comparable price where one has been determined, and (2) the highest market price between January |l and September 15, 1942.
