Sir,—l heartily endorse “F.D.A. s suggestion that in all cases of cycle stealing the thief should get a term of imprisonment. This is the only way to put a stop to it. Here 15 a . cy fr® thief’s balance-sheet, as must be the case with some of them; Six cycles stolen cost -nil, alterations £2, cost of a solicitor to get thief of! with Probation £2 2s. loss of time attending Court £2. net profit for the year £lB 18s. as cycles sold for £25. I do not know of any such thief, but this must m practice be how some of them come out—Yours, etc. SUFFERER. September 7, 1942.
