(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, August 17. Southland beat Timaru by 5 points to 3 in the annua] secondary schools' Rugby match to-day. The match, which was played in warm, calm weather, was fast and even. R. C. Wills scored a try for Timaru and R. Hishon for Southland. 6 Ross converted the latter try with a fine kick from near the touch-line.
