REINSTATEMENT IN WORK

REGULATIONS APPLY TO WOMEN IN SERVICES

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 11. The regulations requiring employers to reinstate workers who return from service with the armed forces apply to women in the services as well as to men. the Minister of National Service (the Hon. W. J. Broadfoot) said today. Mr Broadfoot said that the Government was determined that a person’s service in the armed forces would not prejudice his or her right to resume his or her former occupation after demobilisation. It was true that difficulties might arise in some cases, he said, but - the return of those in the services to employment was not to be left to chance. It would always be the Government’s responsibility, and all the resources and the power of the State would'be directed to that end.
