♦ U.S. COMPANIES’ LARGE LOSS ; (Received June 10,11.30 p.m.) " NEW YORK, June 9. The American Institute of Marine Underwriters has announced that insurance companies lost 46,000,000 dollars in marine losses in the first six months of 1942, but the debit balance for the three years ending in June is only 1,453,000 dollars. The chairman explained that the marine losses did hot affect standing companies, as these losses represented only 14 per cent, of the total insurance.
