1 ADDITIONAL CONNECTED LOAD

The Banks Peninsula Power Board received a report from the engineer (Mr F. Ai Lewthwaite) that the additional connected load was 20.331 k.w., bringing the total connected load to 7675.412 k.w. The increase for the year was 335.501 k.w., while for the corresponding period last year it was 548.263 k.w. There were 1116 consumers, 344 water-heaters, 269 general purpose motors, and 437 electric ranges connected to the system. Lightning arrestors to fit to transformers most exposed to electric storms would soon come to hand. The Controller of Electricity wrote approving the board’s action in estimating accounts where meters were only read every six months, the midwinter and mid-summer readings being cut out.
