—♦— • -V CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS PAIRS' TITLE / WIN BY BECKENHAM PAIR H. Fraser and P.' Burke, of Beckenham, won the champion ,of pairs bowling title on Saturday afternoon, beating easily . E. Langley and R. Garth, of Sydenham, by 27 to 13. The game, which was played at the Edgeware green, ended on the nine-_ tdenth end. • Early in the game, with sound leading by Langley and consistent drawing by Garth, Sydenham was in a good position, but on the. sixth end the Beckenham pair drew six shots to put them a point ahead, and from then on they steadily increased their lead. Both Langley and Garth dropped into erratic play, and to the end of the game scored only four more points. , Mr J. Gagliardi, in the absence of the centre president (Mr R. E. McNish), congratulated the Beckenham pair on their win. MATCHES IN CHAMPION FOURS COMPETITION First round and second-round matches in the Christchurch Bowling Centre s champion of champion fours series were played on the Edgeware and Elmwood greens on Saturday afternoon. J Finnegan, P. Delargy. and R. E. McNish, skip) beat Riccarton Racecourse (A. McAulay. A. Cutts. H Daniel, and G, Reed. skip). The leading teams now are:—Elmwood (J. R. Smith, skip), five wins; Riccarton Racecourse (J. Burgess, skip), four wins; and Canterbury (R. E. McNish. skip), four wins. Next week Burgess will play Rangiora (R. Ball, skip), and McNish will play Christchurch (C. Maddren, skip). RESULTS OF CLUB MATCHES The final of the Canterbury Bowling Club's singles championship for the T. G. Fox Cup was won by P. J. Gaffney, who beat R. H. Stott. The final of the R.S.A. Bowling Clubs singles championship was won by C. Spearman, who beat W. Chapman. The final of the Cashmere Bowling Chib’s singles championship was won by A. E. H. Christie, who beat C. W. Innes.
