G Withers) told a representative of "The Press” yesterday. It had been pointed out to the oil fuel controller that the mailman, who now has to deliver bread and urgent parcels, did not deliver at Speechley’s bridge until 7.40 p.m. In some other districts the mail service had been reestablished. This was proved by the increasing volume of urgent parcels being carried by the mail car. He could not understand why the authorities had not introduced a gas producer so that the daily service could be continued. ______________ Largest Tunnel in Europe.—A Danish firm has completed the largest tunnel in Europe and the biggest In traffic capacity in the world, under the river Maas, in Rotterdam, after four and a half years’ building.
