HAIL DAMAGE AT LOBURN

APPLE LOSS EQUIVALENT TO ABOUT 4000 CASES Hail damage to apple crops at Loburn last week will probably amount to 3000 or 4000 cases, though an official estimate will not be available till next week. In giving this information yesterday, Mr R. G. I. Hamilton, orchard instructor of the Department of Agriculture, said that about six orchards in the line of the storm had suffered severely, one having 90 per cent, of its fruit (mainly apples) affected. Severely damaged fruit for these and other orchards fringing them varied from 10 to 60 oer cent, of the total crops.
