NEW JUGOSLAV PREMIER
JOVANOVIC REPLACES SIMOVIC MIKHAILOVIC BECOMES WAR MINISTER (Received January 13, 10 p.m.) LONDON, January 12. Dr. Slobodan Jovanovic, DeputyPrime Minister of Jugoslavia, has been appointed Prime Minister. He succeeds General Simovic. who has been offered a post of high importance for the continuance and development of Jugoslavia’s war effort. General Mikhailovic. commanding the patriot forces in Jugoslavia, has been appointed War Minister “as a symbol of the Government's confidence in the cause of his forces and as evidence of the strength of its solidarity with them.” The statement announcing the changes said that the Government was now faced with a task different from that when the constitution Was promulgated, and for this reason it was felt desirable that the leadership should be political instead of military. The Government reaffirmed its determination to fight against the Axis,
